چکیده

Over the past decade, kirigami--the Japanese art of paper cutting--has been playing an increasing role in emerging field mechanical metamaterials and a myriad other applications. Nonetheless, deep understanding mathematics mechanics kirigami structures is yet to be achieved order unlock their full potential pioneer more advanced applications field. In this work, we study most fundamental geometric building block kirigami: thin sheet with single cut. We consider reduced two-dimensional plate model circular disk radial slit investigate its deformation following opening rotation lips. isometric limit--as thickness approaches zero--the elastic energy has no stretching contribution takes conical shape known as e-cone. solve post-buckling problem for e-cone geometrically nonlinear setting assuming Saint Venant-Kirchhoff constitutive model; find closed-form expressions stress fields show geometry governed by spherical elastica problem. This allows us fully map out space solutions stability post-buckled mirror symmetric boundary conditions on lips open slit.

Topological Mechanics of Origami and Kirigami.

Origami and kirigami have emerged as potential tools for the design of mechanical metamaterials whose properties such as curvature, Poisson ratio, and existence of metastable states can be tuned using purely geometric criteria. A major obstacle to exploiting this property is the scarcity of tools to identify and program the flexibility of fold patterns. We exploit a recent connection between sp...

Quantizations of conical symplectic resolutions I: local and global structure

We re-examine some topics in representation theory of Lie algebras and Springer theory in a more general context, viewing the universal enveloping algebra as an example of the section ring of a quantization of a conical symplectic resolution. While some modification from this classical context is necessary, many familiar features survive. These include a version of the Beilinson-Bernstein local...

Local Conical Dimensions for Measures

for μ-almost all points x ∈ R? Here the right-hand sides of (1.1) and (1.2) are denoted by dimloc(μ, x) and dimloc(μ, x), and they are the upper and lower local dimensions of the measure μ at x ∈ R, respectively. We prove that if C is a cone with opening angle at least π, then (1.1) and (1.2) hold for all measures μ and for μ-almost all x ∈ R. Moreover, (1.2) holds also for cones with small ope...

Modular Kirigami

Modular Kirigami is here defined as the symmetric assemblage, with artistic intent, of multiple copies of cut paper shapes. Intricate examples with icosahedral symmetry are presented. These consist purely of interlocked flat pieces of paper, with no folding and no adhesives.

ON LOCAL BOUNDEDNESS OF I-TOPOLOGICAL VECTOR SPACES

The notion of generalized locally bounded $I$-topological vectorspaces is introduced. Some of their important properties arestudied. The relationship between this kind of spaces and thelocally bounded $I$-topological vector spaces introduced by Wu andFang [Boundedness and locally bounded fuzzy topological vectorspaces, Fuzzy Math. 5 (4) (1985) 87$-$94] is discussed. Moreover, wealso use the fam...
